Works with the skeletal system to control voluntary movements, and with internal organs for involuntary movements (like digestion and heartbeat). 3. Circulatory System Responsible for blood flow, carrying oxygen and nutrients to cells. Includes the heart, blood, and blood vessels (arteries, veins, and capillaries). Helps regulate body temperature and remove waste. 4. Respiratory System Involved in breathing (oxygen intake and carbon dioxide release). Includes the lungs, trachea, bronchi, and diaphragm. Works closely with the circulatory system to oxygenate the blood. 5. Digestive System Breaks down food into nutrients. Composed of organs like the mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas. Converts food into energy and removes waste. 6. Nervous System Controls body functions and communication between body parts. Consists of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. Coordinates voluntary and involuntary actions, such as movement, reflexes, and sensory responses. 7. Endocrine System Produces hormones that regulate metabolism, growth, and mood. Includes glands such as the thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands. Helps maintain homeostasis (balance) within the body. 8. Immune System Protects the body against infections and diseases. Includes the lymphatic system, spleen, and white blood cells. Identifies and destroys harmful pathogens. 9. Integumentary System Includes the skin, hair, and nails. Protects the body from external damage, regulates temperature, and provides sensory information. Acts as the first line of defense against pathogens. 10. Reproductive System Responsible for producing offspring. Male reproductive system includes the testes, penis, and associated structures. Female reproductive system includes the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, and vagina. 11. Urinary System Removes waste products from the bloodstream.
